Join the Lab

SAGE welcomes students, researchers, and community partners whose interests connect with self, altruism, groups, empathy, or the broader study of wisdom. Opportunities depend on current projects, supervision capacity, and available funding.

Before applying, please explore our research themes and Idea Garden. Then complete the SAGE Lab Collaboration Assessment Form. This is the preferred first point of contact for all prospective lab members and collaborators.

Undergraduate students

Undergraduate students may become involved as research assistants, volunteers, summer students, or through supervised research and course-credit opportunities when available. Previous research experience is helpful but not always necessary; curiosity, reliability, attention to detail, and a sustained time commitment matter most.

In the form, describe the questions that interest you, the skills you would like to develop, and your availability during the academic year or summer.

PsyD and other graduate students

PsyD and graduate students may approach the lab about research practica, doctoral projects, independent studies, or collaboration on an existing project. A strong application identifies a focused question, explains how it connects with SAGE’s themes, and clarifies the kind of supervision or collaboration being sought.

Admission to an academic program and participation in the lab are separate processes. Prospective students should also follow the relevant UQAR program and admission requirements.

Postdoctoral fellows and visiting researchers

Prospective postdoctoral fellows and visiting researchers are encouraged to propose a project that complements the lab’s research program while developing an independent line of work. Please indicate the anticipated dates, funding situation or fellowship plans, methodological expertise, and potential points of collaboration.

Early inquiries are welcome when preparing an external fellowship application.

Research collaborators and community partners

SAGE is open to collaborations with researchers, organizations, and community partners who bring complementary questions, methods, populations, or practical knowledge. The form can be used to outline a project idea, identify shared interests, or begin a conversation about data, methods, or knowledge mobilization.

Applications and proposals are reviewed as opportunities arise. Because capacity varies throughout the year, submitting the form does not guarantee a position or an immediate response.
